Thought Experiment - World on the Bitcoin Standard & No Taxes (Fabel)

The following report was created using Anthropic Fabel, as a thought Experiment with 384 references.

Executive Summary

This report does three things. It designs a hypothetical nation, the Republic of Orinth, that uses Bitcoin as its only money and operates a functioning state with no compulsory taxation: no income tax, no VAT or sales tax, no customs duties, no wealth or property tax, and no inflation tax, because the state cannot print money. It then uses that design to compare the Bitcoin standard with the fiat standard across the questions that matter most: capital markets, asset holders, banking and scale, crime and sanctions, war, ethical finance, poverty, economic coercion, financial crises, entrepreneurship and the funding of frontier research, asks what happens when the model is scaled to the whole human population, revises the premise into a model that could, and applies that model to every nation. The one-page infographic that precedes this summary shows the whole arc. It closes with a three-phase roadmap for getting from fiat to a Bitcoin standard and an evidence-weighted verdict on which standard the world would thrive under. Every mechanism, precedent and empirical claim is attributed; Appendix E lists over three hundred and seventy sources.
